TODAY SERMON- share with others please: What Must I Do To Be Saved? HEAR–“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). BELIEVE–“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6; John 3:16; 20:30–31). When the Bible speaks of believers being saved, it means obedient believers and not disobedient ones (Acts 16:34; 2:44; Galatians 5:6). Faith alone will not save (James 2:24). REPENT–“I tell you, no: but unless you repent, ye will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3; 24:46–47; Acts 17:30–31). To repent means to change one's mind and conduct (Matthew 21:28–29). CONFESS–“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32–33; Romans 10:9–10; Acts 8:37). One is not to confess that he is taking Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, or that God, for Christ's sake, has pardoned his sins, but that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God (Acts 8:37). BE BAPTIZED–“Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit’ ” (Acts 2:38; 22:16; Mark 16:15–16; I Peter 3:21; Galatians 3:27). BAPTISM IS A BURIAL IN WATER–“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4; 6:17; Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:37–39).
